Welcome to ClarkstonMusic.com, a home for the creative ventures of Clarkston Junior High School students enrolled in Piano/Music Technology and Vocal Music Department courses. Clarkston, Michigan is approximately 40 miles north of Detroit.

Students learn how to read music while learning to play piano. They also learn to analyze chords as they learn to create accompaniments for their melodic creations. Creations using technology have many different desired outcomes. Sometimes learning to use the software and creating basic musical forms is the main objective. Sometimes a strong melody is important. Sometimes taking production to the next step of creating original accompaniments parts is the goal. Still other extended assignments can take us into the real music industry by writing a commercial jingle, an original 'hit' song or even a music video or short movie score.

Advanced students can also experiment with professional notation software as they sequence ensembles and orchestrate well known works. Basic audio recording and editing is experienced in all of the above activities when acoustic instruments such as voice and guitar combine with the software synth keyboard tracks.
